Choosing Your Menu

Vegetables:
The suggested vegetables in your kits are just that - suggestions, feel free to get creative and try some of your favorite vegetables.  Some of the readily available vegetables found in Thai dishes are; Spinach, pumpkin, bamboo, eggplant, snap peas, bok choy, broccoli and snow peas. Massaman curry is most often served with beef, potatoes and onion.  If you really want to get creative, spend some time in your local Asian grocery store and pick out a new vegetable to try out then do a quick Google search to find out how to prepare and cook.

 
 
Meat:
You can choose any meat that you like to for your dish.  We often use chicken and pork for our red and green and beef for our Massaman.  Mutton is also a popular choice in SE Asia.
 
 
Chili Peppers:
Cut them up into small  pieces to really spice up your dish, remove the seeds for a ‘not so spicy’ kick or leave them  whole to lessen the heat and add some great color and texture to your meal.  Be careful with them - your dish will get really hot really fast.
 
 
Coconut Milk:
You can find coconut milk in most stores in the ethnic isle and sometimes in the ''canned milk' isle.  See our FAQ page for information on the benefits of coconut milk.
 
Peanuts:
To freshen the peanuts in your Massaman kit, toast them on a baking sheet in a 350 degrees F oven for 10 minutes or place nuts in a small bowl and microwave on High for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes before using them in your dish.
 
Vegetarian:
If there's a Vegetarian in your dinner party forget the meat and go ahead and load up your curry with all of your favorite crisp fresh vegetables.  We recommend our Red curry kit as it’s a heavier curry and can better absorb water from the vegetables.  We do make our curry pastes with Shrimp paste so it may not be suitable for the Vegans in your life
   
Sugar free:
For diabetics in the party you can opt to leave out the Palm Sugar in your kit to provide a Sugar free meal.
   
Starch:
We provide a sweet smelling Jasmine Rice with each of our regular kits but our curries are also great with brown or basmati rice or even over a bed of spaghetti squash. Try our Sampler kits, they have everything our regular kits do except the rice and coconut milk so you’re free to try out countless options.
